Three-Step Sparring – Minimum Techniques everyone should know

 Defend against middle front punch thrown in walking stance. Move away from attacker:

  1. Inward Block Outer forearm walking stance.
  2. Outward Block Inner forearm walking stance.
  3. Outward Block Outer forearm walking stance.

Defend against high punch thrown in walking stance.

  1. Front Rising Block walking stance.

Defend against low front snap kick thrown from walking stance.

  1. Low Block walking stance. End with a lead leg front snap kick of your own followed by fingertip thrust thrown from a sitting stance.

Defend against knife hand strike thrown in L-Stance.

  1. Double knife hand guarding block from L-Stance. End with a lead leg side kick thrown from L-Stance followed by fingertip thrust thrown from a sitting stance.

One-Step Sparring – Minimum Techniques everyone should know.

Move away from attack unless directed to move forward.

Defend against middle front punch thrown in walking stance.

  1.  Inward Block Outer forearm walking stance.
  2. Outward Block Inner forearm walking stance.
  3. Outward Block Outer forearm walking stance.

Defend against high front  punch thrown in walking stance.

  1. Front Rising Block walking stance.
  2. Front snap kick.
  3. Pivot side kick.
  4. Step to the side, side kick.

Defend against middle front punch thrown in walking stance.

Move towards attacker for eight

  1. Move into a sitting stance and at the same time perform a Lead hand inward knife hand strike to neck, back hand knife hand block to punching hand.  Strike and block are thrown at the same time.

Move towards attacker for nine

  1. Move into a sitting stance and at the same time perform a pushing block with palm.  Finish with two punches thrown in combination.
  2. Dodge at a 45 degree angle forming twin forearm guarding block in an L-Stance.  Follow with a front snap kick followed in with two punches in combination.
  3. Repeat ten, but instead of front snap kick perform a jumping front snap kick.
  4. Step to the side in a Rear-foot stance while at the same time performing a hooking block. Follow with a side piercing kick while pulling the attacker in with the hand that performed the hooking block.

  Defend against a high front punch

  1. Front snap kick to the pubic pressure point or solar plexus or kidney followed by a high kick to the chin. End in double forearm guarding block in L-Stance.

Defend against a middle front punch

  1. Perform an outward block with inner forearm in an L-Stance.  Slide in with a knife-hand strike to the neck in an L-stance.
  2. Perform an outward block with inner forearm in an L-Stance.  Follow with a back kick. End with double forearm guarding block in L-Stance.
  3. Perform an outward block with inner forearm in an L-Stance.  Follow with a reverse hook kick.  End with a double forearm guarding block in L-Stance.
